Hey Carl - the trouble photographing in -40 has dropped some pretty big hints on you - maybe consider warmer climate.. :) There is a great sense of wilderness I get from the shot above.

Hey Carl - love the blues and the light. Great narration, too. If the people can't fix the van, you should be able to take advantage of the lemon law, right? Get yourself a new rig? Word up, dawg; stay warm.

Hey Mark

I just left a warmer climate. :) Plus, it's gunna be pretty hard to be tempted to leave country with the kind of views posted above! :)

Hey Laurent,

Thanks for the note, man. Yeah, the light was killin' this particular evening - it never ceases to amaze me to watch it change this time of day. As for the van, I bought it 2nd hand, so I doubt I'll get far. And it's a "conversion van" anyway, so it's so far removed from "factory stock" I doubt I'd have much recourse. The dealer had it all day today and all they said was "seems fine to us" - we'll see what the morrow brings.

Thanks again,

Cheers

Hey Carl, glad you made it. It may be pretty tough hitchhiking up there. That's an awesome picture. When you were talking about setting up your tripod, It reminded me of that boy in the movie " A Christmas Story ", where the kid stuck his tongue to a frozen flagpole. Good thing you didn't have to use your mouth! The way you converse with people, you remind me of a big kid, which is great. I think all of us on here have a lot of curious kid in us. I drove to the N. Georgia mountains on Wed. It was snowy but only in the 20's & I thought I was cold! Stay safe. Looking forward to hearing from you soon.P.S. Get a Chevrolet!!

Hey Beth,

A Chevy? Are you crazy? Next you'll suggest I sell my Mac and buy a PC! :) :)

I know my tripod pretty well .. and knowing all where's it's been dragged through, I'm not sticking my tongue anywhere near it. :)

A number of people say I remind them of a big kid - usually not quite so complimentarily. :)

Thanks for the kind words on the photo.

Cheers
