What a great photo of this beautiful bunny. Good to have you out of hibernation,Carl!! Ron had a really cool photo of a desert mtn. trail the other day, too. You've probably seen it by now. Looked really cool wth the cacti & the hiker on top. Hope you're having a great time. So how long are you going to be at the cabin? There will be all kinds of great stuff to photograph soon!! I love the way you captured this little fellas' face. And the snowy backdrop is perfect.

When you say "you shot one yesterday" does it mean you had it for dinner?

Hi Beth,

Britney who? :)

You know Carl and I have been friends for many years, and have had a lot of laughs on the phone over the years. I have even run into him a number of time in Alaska including the Wrangell's, Homer and Denali, but it seems like we are always going different directions in Alaska's all too short of summer - he stays busy guiding hikers and I have had some long assignments which limited my flexibility.

He visited me a year or two ago, and we did a little shooting one of those days, but I think that was one of the only times. Now that he lives in Alaska, I imagine we will do some more - when I'm not running around in the nice warm desert. :) I do 99% of my photography by myself.

How is that for a long answer to a short question!

Hey Beth,

Thanks for the note. Yeah, it's good to be in the field. I'll be here towards the end of the month, then back in to Anchorage for a course, then out again.

Ron and his wife Janine have been awesome enough to invite me to their house and hang out some - they're great people. I'm always trying to get to go shoot with ron to learn his tricks, but he's too wily for me, and is usually off in some distant part of the world. I thought by moving up here I'd catch him, but it seems like I saw him more often when I living in Georgia. :)

Hey Sergei

No, I didn't eat one of the bunnies. I did manage to get a picture of something that <does</b> eat them though. :)

Hey Ron,

Thanks man. So, you are coming back, right? I went down by your old house and it seems they've turned it into a museum of famous ex-Alaskan photographers. :)

Cheers

Reminds me I need to try harder to catch some shots of the rabbits in my own backyard! Seems they are only out at night though, and I don't find a lot of interest in nighttime wildlife shots.

Very nice image Carl.

Hey Mark,

Thanks.

Yeah, they're hard to get here too . they have a great understanding of light, and always come out right at the light drops to about 1/40th at f4.

Cheers

Hey Ron & Carl, Thanks for the info. Too bad you don't have more time to visit each other. Hopefully that will change, but I'm sure that you really have to hustle in the line of work you're in. You really are always going in different directions. But for both of you, your dedication shows in your photography. I'm just really glad I found both websites!!

Hey Beth,

It's mostly Ron, not me .. he won't come play anytime. He's always 'too busy', which means, making money - which is why there's so few dollars left for the rest of us.

:)

Cheers
