hey Folks,
I told ya you’d see some more lupines. Aren’t they gorgeous flowers? This one in the foreground was not quite in full bloom yet, but I thought the scene worked well. Plus, I do love me some lupine, so I took a bunch of photos of different ones.
Cheers
Carl

I’m still having a hard time deciding what I think about lupines. I agree with you that they can look absolutely fabulous, especially when they grow in great numbers… but at the same time, I can’t help thinking that it’s an invasive plant here in Sweden and it seems like its numbers have exploded in the recent years, up here in the central Sweden anyway. But as long as it doesn’t kill any of our native plants, gorgeous it is.

I like these as well Carl, but they don’t get this intense blue down here in Michigan. More a shade of violet - and of course, I don’t get them growing in front of majestic mountain peaks. Now I know the time of year I would want to visit St. Elias if I ever get up there.

Hey Mark,
yeah, I probably got the color a bit wrong on the computer .. it shouldn’t be quite so blue.
Minna, is lupine an invasive plant in Sweden? I thought they were endemic?
