Fall color, Wrangell – St. Elias National Park

Hey Folks,

A quick visit back to September; the boreal forest is a melange of color in the fall. The vibrancy of the Alaska woods in the fall is a function, perhaps, of the speed at which the dramatic changes take place. The green foliage of summer glimpses the oncoming winter and is gone in the blink of an eye; one last hurrah of color before settling in, nestled beneath the whites of winter.

Cheers

  1. Subtle color against the repetition. Nice.

Love the three trunks Carl. What is it about the number three that makes compositions so much better?

    Hey folks,

Thanks, I appreciate it. Mark, I’m not sure – but it works well. It’s probably related to the “rule of the 3rds” – some folks say 3 is the magic number .. the “golden mean” was what the ancient greek artists referred to it as – the universe is divided by 3rds – the heart is placed on the 3rd … all kinds of stuff, most of which I forget now. :)

    Cheers

    Carl
